I love spring! 

Winter in Colorado goes from cold and snowy, to brown and barren. Thankfully, the sun keeps shining.  Even so, I weary of the many shades of brown across the dormant landscape.

I  love the new green shoots that poke through the soil and tip the trees when Spring begins.  It lifts my soul. Love and hope reborn.  I'm always anxious to get into my garden in the spring, sometimes planting too early because I'm impatient.  I'm just as impatient indoors to get my Spring cleaning done, and so I made this table runner with our speedy machine process: 

These fabrics from Island Batiks Coral Reef collection inspired me to make a Springy runner.  The purple fabric is a flutter with butterflies, dragonflies, and fresh flowers, and the spring green bursts with new life... revealed in the reverse applique design.

 Spring turns to summer.

The Sky turns a rich blue. The landscape is alive with growth and the Sun heats everything up, nourishing me and the land.  The days are long with light, and often filled with an extra bustle of activity.  Yet there is also vacation, and days of porch sitting with a good book or my hand-stitching.
